9 Lives
Make your way through the sewers before your light fades.
You're a cat in lost in a mysterious sewage system, and your only chance at escaping the damp dark underground is a magical ball of light.
The sewer tunnels seem to twist and turn, and your light companion can only maintain its brightness for so long. A cat only has nine lives, will you be able
to escape before they run out?
This game was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2025 - Theme: Loop
As project manager, I was responsible for coordinating meetings with the team, and facilitating discussion for mechanics, design, and narrative.
I was also responsible for assigning tasks for programming, art, and sound team, and doing regular check-ins throughout the duration of the jam.
Additionally, I assisted in programming where needed and designed the simple room layouts in the games.
Gameplay Overview
9 Lives is a point and click maze game where you have nine lives to escape before it's game over. Some branching paths lead to dead ends, while others loop you back to where you started.
As you progress through the rooms, your light meter fades. Once the light fully depletes, you lose a life and are brought back to the start. After succesfully navigating a certain amount of rooms, you'll reach
a room with only two branching paths, indicating a checkpoint.
The maze layout is randomly generated with each new run of the game.
